ABOUT THE ROLE

You will be conducting fundamental research on equities primarily in the Basic Materials sector, and working alongside the portfolio manager to contribute alpha-generating long/short investment ideas into the portfolio. You will also collaborate with quantitative researchers to create or improve systematic strategies by utilizing your sectorial domain knowledge.

Your primary objective is to deeply understand the underlying drivers of equity prices. To accomplish this, you will be expected to:

 

  • Read and summarize news, public filings, transcripts, and research reports
  • Build financial models (revenue and margin builds, balance sheet, valuations)
  • Meet with management teams
  • Interpret relevant alternative data

 

Base salary 120 -190K USD depending on experience

+ variable compensation

+ competitive benefit package

 

SKILLSET REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS

  • Passion for investment research
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • 2 to 7 years of relevant experience in finance, investing, or basic materials
  • MBA and/or CFA preferred but not required
  • Ability to code in Python preferred but not required
