Your Role

CFM is seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Data Referential FICC to lead the governance, quality, and delivery of reference data for the designated instruments portfolio, spanning exchange-traded and OTC derivatives including futures, forex, forwards, credit products, IRS, CDS, ...

 

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in derivatives markets, reference data management, and team leadership, with a proven track record of ensuring data excellence in complex, fast-paced quantitative trading environments that demand precision, reliability and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic & Team Leadership

Define and execute the strategic roadmap for directional reference data management, aligning with CFM's broader data architecture and business objectives.

Build, mentor, and retain a high-performing team of data specialists and engineers, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous learning.

 

Data Excellence & Engineering

Ensure uncompromising accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of reference data across all covered derivative instruments.

Design and implement robust data quality frameworks, controls, and validation processes that meet the highest institutional standards.

Oversee the conception and implementation of modern data pipelines, ensuring adherence to engineering best practices, architecture standards, and agile methodologies while accelerating cloud adoption and delivery.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize data workflows, reduce operational or technical inefficiencies, and enhance data accessibility.

Collaborate with Technology teams to leverage cutting-edge platforms, automation, and cloud-native solutions.

Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data management and engineering to drive innovation and maintain competitive advantage.

 

Cross-Functional Partnerships & Stakeholder Engagement

Serve as recognized authority on directional reference data, partnering with Research, Technology, Operations, and Compliance teams.

Proactively engage with Research functions to understand their evolving needs and deliver high-value data solutions that support sophisticated quantitative research and trading strategies.

Manage relationships with external data vendors and exchanges to ensure optimal service delivery, cost efficiency, and access to high-quality reference data.

Lead cross-functional projects and initiatives, managing dependencies, resolving obstacles, and ensuring successful delivery.

 

Governance & Compliance

Establish and maintain comprehensive data governance policies, standards, and documentation for directional instruments.

Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, audit standards, and internal controls.

Your Skills

  • 10+ years of experience in financial services with significant exposure to derivatives markets (futures, FX, fixed income, credit derivatives), with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record of managing reference data operations and engineering at scale in financial services, fostering a culture of quality excellence, continuous optimization, and business value delivery.
  • Deep understanding of directional derivatives instruments: futures, forex, forwards, government and corporate bonds, IRS, CDS, ...
  • Strong customer-centric approach with proactive stakeholder engagement, consistently prioritizing user experience and delivering data services that exceed expectations across business functions, notably Quant/Research teams.
  • Experience with cloud environments and technologies (e.g., AWS), particularly in migrating or modernizing reference data platforms to cloud infrastructure.
  • Excellent leadership, team management and project management skills, applicable to cross-functional contexts.
  • Ability to solve complex problems and make strategic decisions.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into business outcomes for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Capacity to work in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment, with a commitment to professional development and continuous learning.
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred in Finance, Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., CFA) or advanced knowledge of quantitative research methodologies is a plus.
