ABOUT THE ROLE
The Team
Data is the fuel that powers our investment strategies: intraday price dynamics are used to better our investment decisions; buy/sell intents of market participants help to trade at the best available price… CFM Data team is in charge preparing the data to make quant research easier and trading more reliable.
The Mission
As a software engineer (Data), you will contribute to the success of our strategies by integrating new datasets and making sure data integration pipelines run smoothly and efficiently. Your main responsibility will be to strengthen and add new capabilities to our tick-by-tick data engineering platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintaining the platform to keep it state-of-the-art
- Developing value-adding capabilities to the platform, with a focus on user-friendliness
- Automating recurrent tasks to reduce friction & improve time to market
- Supporting quant research by providing technical guidance
- Developing, deploying & monitoring data pipelines
Qualifications / Required Skills
- A minimum of 3 years of experience would be appreciated
- Education: BS or MS degree in Computer Science or related Computer Engineering curriculum
- You are a python and/or C++ development associate level expert
- You have already experienced data manipulation libraries (pandas, polars, etc.)
- Good knowledge of Linux environments, including containers (docker), packaging solutions (conda, etc.) and versioning tools (git) will be appreciated
- Of course, you have strong coding skills and an particular interest for technology
- You are a team player, and you can communicate with quant teams
- We are looking for proven analytical skills
- People often say you are able to solve complex problems
- We need your capacity to work in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment, with a commitment to professional development and continuous learning
Optional
- Associate-level knowledge of one cloud provider, preferably AWS
- Experience with distributed data manipulation libraries (dask, spark, etc.)
