YOUR ROLE 

 

As a Cloud & Platform Engineer, you will play a key role in modernizing and standardizing CFM Portfolios’ technical platform. Based in Paris, you will work alongside experienced engineers to strengthen our CI/CD practices, drive our containerization migration, and support the transition of our Research and production platforms to AWS. 

 

You are first and foremost a Cloud and DevOps expert with a genuine platform engineering culture. You bring solid development skills and a deep understanding of system internals and performance constraints. 

Experience in financial markets is not required. 

 

 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

 

• Cloud Migration: Support Research teams in their transition to AWS, especially for their HPC use-cases. Contribute to the migration of our production applications to the cloud. 

• CI/CD: Audit, redesign and standardize CI/CD pipelines across the Portfolio division. Define standards, implement monitoring, and drive adoption of best practices. 

• Python Stack: Modernize our Python ecosystem - internal packaging, dependency management, quality tooling (linting, typing, testing). Ensure environment consistency across teams. 

• Containerization: Lead the migration of our applications and environments to Docker. Design and maintain a catalogue of reference images. 

• Configuration & Release Management: Implement robust configuration and release management processes, with full traceability and reproducibility across environments. 

 

 

YOUR SKILLS

Education: Master’s degree in computer science and software engineering. 

Experience: 7+ years in Cloud, Platform Engineering or DevOps roles. 

 

Technical skills 

 

Cloud — AWS 

• Proficiency with core AWS services: EC2, S3, IAM, ECS, Batch, VPC, Lambda 

• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code practices (Terraform or equivalent) 

 

CI/CD & DevOps 

• Deep expertise in CI/CD tooling (GitLab CI, Jenkins, GitHub Actions or equivalent) 

• Solid hands-on experience with Docker (build, optimization, security, registries) 

• Strong Linux and shell scripting skills 

 

Development & Systems culture 

• Ability to write clean, maintainable Python code 

• Solid understanding of system fundamentals: processes, threads, CPU, RAM, GPU, concurrency, I/O 

• Proficiency in Python packaging and dependency management (pip, uv, conda, mamba…) 

 

Collaboration and communication 

• Ability to work cross-functionally with developers, quants and researchers 

• Strong communication skills for promoting and sharing best practices 

• Pragmatic, rigorous and autonomous in complex technical environments 

 

Bonus Points 

• Experience with HPC or distributed computing environments 

• Experience in quantitative finance or a similarly demanding technical environment
