ABOUT THE ROLE
At CFM, we recognize the critical importance of understanding environmental changes and integrating resilience into our corporate strategy. We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to spearhead the establishment of our 'Resilience Lab.' This innovative initiative will drive our efforts in environmental expertise and strategic development. By leveraging data-driven insights, the Resilience Lab aims to enhance our corporate readiness for climate-related challenges and future strategic opportunities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Based in Paris, this position sits within the Research department.
- Research and Expertise Development: Conduct detailed research to develop expertise on environmental changes and their consequences, informing strategic decisions and resilience planning.
- Data Analysis and Scenario Modeling: Collect and analyze environmental data, using advanced modeling techniques to forecast different resilience scenarios and inform strategic readiness for potential threats and opportunities.
- Strategic Development: Leverage research findings and data analysis to propose informed action plans that optimize our company strategy, ensuring long-term resilience and alignment with anticipated environmental changes.
- External Representation and communication : Establish partnerships with academic institutions and contribute to academic publications, represent CFM at industry conferences and forums and publish white papers on environmental resilience, underscoring CFM's commitment to data-driven insights.
- Internal collaboration and communication : Collaborate with other departments to incorporate actionable resilience insights into corporate practices and effectively disseminate the Resilience Lab’s findings throughout CFM.
We will also expect our new hire to assess the potential to expand the lab, including the possibility of adding team members to enhance and scale its initiatives.
SKILLSET REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS
- A Ph.D. or Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Climate Science, or a related quantitative field.
- At least 5 years of professional experience in sustainability strategy, with a significant impact in a corporate setting.
- Strong expertise in data collection, analysis, and scenario modeling.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Strong analytical and strategic abilities to transform research into actionable corporate strategies.
- Proven capability to work autonomously and manage initiatives independently.
- Deep passion for sustainability and resilience, with a commitment to advancing these priorities.
