ABOUT THE ROLE   

 

The Team

Data is the fuel that powers our investment strategies: intraday price dynamics are used to better our investment decisions; buy/sell intents of market participants help to trade at the best available price… CFM Data team is in charge preparing the data to make quant research easier and trading more reliable.

 

The Mission

As a software engineer (Data), you will contribute to the success of our strategies by integrating new datasets and making sure data integration pipelines run smoothly and efficiently. Your main responsibility will be to strengthen and add new capabilities to our tick-by-tick data engineering platform.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintaining the platform to keep it state-of-the-art
  • Architecting & developing value-adding capabilities to the platform, with a focus on user-friendliness
  • Automating recurrent tasks to reduce friction & improve time to market
  • Soliciting user feedback & animate platform roadmap
  • Supporting quant research by providing technical guidance
  • Developing, deploying & monitoring data pipelines

 

Qualifications / Required Skills

  • Over 5 years of experience
  • Education: BS or MS degree in Computer Science or related Computer Engineering curriculum
  • Expertise in python and C++ development
  • Experience with distributed data processing and/or computing frameworks (spark, slurm, etc.)
  • Knowledge of tick-by-tick data (orderbook, quotes, trades, etc)
  • Experience building & running distributed applications
  • Very good knowledge of Linux environments, including system administration, containers and packaging solutions
  • Knowledge of essential cloud concepts such as infrastructure-as-code, access management, storage, provisioning & pricing models.
  • Strong coding skills, interest for technology
  • Team player, able to communicate with quant teams
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Ability to solve complex problems
  • Capacity to work in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment, with a commitment to professional development and continuous learning

Optional

  • Proven experience architecting & deploying cloud workloads, preferably on AWS
